The Ekiti State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists under the leadership of Com. Kayode Babatuyi, has again garlanded the Chairman of Ajoni LCDA, Hon. (Amb.) Prince Michael Ogungbemi fcpa with a National Award of Excellence for his humanitarian services and contribution to societal growth.
This award conferment was done at a programme in Ado Ekiti, on Thursday, which focused on discussing security issues and breaking barriers to a secure society, is a significant one, and it is fitting that the Chairman’s efforts in these areas have been recognized.
Rationalizing the reason for the award, the NUJ Chairman, Kayode Babatuyi, recalled that Hon. Ogungbemi had established Ajoni Local Security Network tagged Operation *EBBORAC* to Eradicate Bandits at the Boarders of Rural Ajoni Communities and said this security formation had done extremely well in combating crime and criminality in Ajoni territories.
To further complement the efforts of the state government under the administration of His Excellency Governor Biodun Oyebanji, the council chairman on a monthly basis holds security and intelligence council meeting which involves all the security operatives and other non state actors, this meeting is meant to review what has been done in curtailing insecurity and proffer way forward to prevailing security threats.
Prince Ogungbemi by hold the firm belief that humanitarian services and contributions to societal growth are essential for building a better and more equitable world.
The council boss said It was heartwarming to see individuals being recognized for his efforts in these areas, as it serves as an inspiration for others to follow in their footsteps.
“Security is a critical issue that affects every aspect of our lives. It is essential to have open discussions and address security concerns to create a safe and secure society.
“The NUJ Ekiti State Council’s programme is a step in the right direction, and it is hoped that it will lead to meaningful changes and solutions to security challenges”.
