Ekiti grants N136m car loan to 368 civil servants

The Ekiti State government has released the sum of N136,260,000 to 368 public servants in the state as car loan.

The Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Mr. Akintunde Oyebode, disclosed this to newsmen at the weekend in Ado Ekiti.

Oyebode said that the gesture to the workers by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, was done to galvanized workers for effective service delivery.

According to the Commissioner, Governor Oyebanji has approved the released of N200 million, to recapitalize the scheme.

Oyebode noted that Governor Oyebanji, directed the committee managing the loan to upwardly review the loanable rates to categories of civil servants to help them cope with the present economic realities.

He stated the conditions for granting the vehicle’s loan which included earning at least 50 percent of the monthly gross pay after the consideration of the repayment of the deduction of the loan to be given.

He added that the beneficiaries must have at least five years to his/her retirement among others.

Oyebode urged the workers to reciprocate the kind gesture of the government by giving their support to the development of Ekiti State.

The commissioner also said that over N174 million standing as unpaid deductions has also been approved for released to the workers by the governor.
