The Omuo Development Union (ODU), under the leadership of Amb. Kayode Fanola DCM (Rtd), has debunked the social media report of the abduction of Corps member Ojo Caleb Temidayo on December 23, 2024, in Omuo Ekiti.
A statement by the ODU National Publicity Secretary, Famisa Ayodeji-Adesina the said alleged kidnapped was not only untrue, but mere fabrication of the writers.
The statement released by the National President of ODU, Amb. Kayode Fanola DCM (Rtd), through the Public Relations Officer (PRO), condemned the media report. He described it as unpleasant, nauseating, and reprehensible as nothing of such happened in Omuo.
“On behalf of Kabiyesi Olomuo of Omuo kingdom, the Olomuo-in-Council, and all sons and daughters of Omuo Kingdom, both at home and in the diaspora, the Omuo Development Union (ODU), under the leadership of Amb. Kayode Fanola DCM (Rtd), has debunked the social media report of the abduction of Corps member Ojo Caleb Temidayo on December 23, 2024, in Omuo Ekiti.
“The people of Omuo Kingdom, to say the least, were alarmed to see such embarrassing news item in a section of the social media about the ancient town, which are capable of creating fear among residents and negative impressions for those willing to travel to or through Omuo, especially during this time of festive period.
“Additionally, the ODU wishes to assure the residents of Omuo and those willing to travel to and through Omuo that the community is peaceful and safe. The security agencies in our community have enhanced their measures to ensure the security of people and properties, allowing everyone to celebrate this yuletide season in a very peaceful environment, Famisa assured.
“Lastly, the ODU advised the media and journalists to always investigate thoroughly before publishing.”
