NUC okays degree programmes for Ekiti College of Health Ijero

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given approval to Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, in affiliation with Kwara State University, Ilorin to establish three (3) degree programmes.

Conveying the approval via a letter addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, Kwara State University, the Commission’s Executive Secretary – Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, highlighted the programmes to include;
B.Sc. Environmental Health Sciences,
B.Sc. Public Health and
B.HIM. Health Information Management.

Commenting on the cheering news, the Provost, Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, Dr. (Mrs.) Olajumoke Adebayo lauded the National Universities Commission for being thorough in assessing the Institution’s facilities and resources, and considering the same suitable for smooth take-off of the programmes.

She noted that the laudable feat might not have become a reality, but for the moral and financial support of the Visitor to the College and Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Biodun Oyebanji, whom she described as a compassionate and listening leader.

Dr. Adebayo also expressed delight that, the College had since the assumption of office of the current Governing Council Chairman, Dr. Oluwafemi Thomas, been recording great achievements, describing him as a visionary leader.

She further commended the Management and Staff of the College, especially, the Director of Affiliate and Part-time Studies –
Dr. (Mrs.) Modupe Oshatunberu and her team, for their support towards the actualization of the affiliation and subsequent accreditation.

While appreciating the Authorities of Kwara State University, Dr. Adebayo pledged her administration’s renewed commitment to upholding the standard of education and sustaining collaborative learning processes.

On her part, the Director, Affiliate and Part-time Studies, canvassed enrolment of O-level certificate holders as well as National /Higher National Diploma certificate holders in the approved courses.
