Wiskid announces break from music, weeks after mom’s burial

Multi-award-winning music star Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has announced that he was temporarily stepping away from the music scene few weeks after burying his dear mother with pomp and pageantry.

In a series of Instagram posts, the multi-talented artist shared his plan to embark on a hiatus lasting four to five years.

With characteristic humour and a touch of broken English, the Starboy records boss playfully mused about exploring avenues such as football or golf.

In his own words, “I’ll be back in 4 years, let your fathers have a little of his money, maybe five or I might also start playing ball now. Or maybe I’ll take up golf. FIFA or wrestling, b*tch! You’re all crazy! Everyone is insane.”

Concluding on a more introspective note, Wizkid added, “On some gangster stuff, I hope you all are feeling good physically, mentally, and spiritually, and taking some time to enjoy moments with your loved ones.”

This announcement is not entirely new, as in 2019, Wizkid took to Twitter from his X account, indicating his intention to step back from the music scene.
