2026: Oyebanji ‘II Win, But We Won’t Underrate Opposition – Bamisile

A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has again boasted that Governor Biodun Oyebanji will win reelection in the 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State, despite the grandstanding of the opposition figures.

However, Bamisile, a former Ekiti State Assembly Speaker, posited that the ruling All Progressives Congress won’t despise nor underrate the opposition parties, despite their current feebleness and disoriented positions, to actualise Governor Oyebanji’s reelection.

Bamisile, who is representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency 2, said these, in a statement in Abuja, on Tuesday.

The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Delegated Legislation, said Governor Oyebanji deserves to be reelected on the basis of his stunning performance and fostering of unity among diverse political interests in the state.

“If you look at performance, Governor Oyebanji deserves being reelected. Look at the flyover in Ado Ekiti and the quantum of progress being made on Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki road, Ikere-Ilawe, Ikere-Igbara Odo road, Isinbode-Ara-Ikole road, Itapa-Omu-Ijelu road and many others.

“Today the Adire Ekiti Hub has become a household name in the southwest and gradually gaining national reckoning, where hundreds of youths have been trained on production of local Adire fabric.

“The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Clinic Commissioned by Vice President Kashim Shettima is now housing the Ekiti garment hub and a place where artisans and market women empowered. Thousands have been empowered with cash to help their businesses, besides being equipped mentally through exposure to modern innovations in their fields.

“What of robust scholarships for students, financial support for Law school students, medical students and increase in subventions to all Ekiti State owned tertiary institutions? These are landmark achievements that worth being celebrated.

“Even in politics, Governor Oyebanji made the highest political appointments ever capturing even those in the opposition, not for anything, but to unite Ekiti and foster peace that we are enjoying now”.

Bamisile lauded the significant progress being made by Governor Oyebanji on the state owned International agro- allied Cargo Airport, so that the facility will begin full operation by November, 2024.

The ranking Federal Lawmaker appealed to the members of the ruling party to begin aggressive mobilisation across wards, for easy and hitch-free actualisation of Governor Oyebanji’s return.
