The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) has said it would investigate the circumstances sorounding the death of a Nigerian student, identified as Ikem, who was allegedly murdered by a group of Chinese in the Republic of Philippines.
A statement by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit (NiDCOM), Abuja said that the the story of the alleged murder had gone viral in the social media, which necessitated the step taken by the Commission.
“Though the matter had not been officially reported to the Nigerian embassy in the Phillipines, NIDCOM has asked the “ eyewitness “ who posted the gory incident on his social media handle to provide more details to the Commission’s e-mail —admin@nidcom.gov.ng
“The Commission will set the machinery in motion to investigate the matter and unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident,” he said.
