Abductors of the school children and teachers of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools Emure -Ekiti have rejected theN7 million offered by the parents of the victims and insisted on collecting N15 million
A family source informed newsmen that the kidnappers are insisting on collecting N15 million, calling on the government to assist in rescuing the victims from the Kidnappers’ then.
” I can tell you that from contributions, we have gotten N7 million, we begged the kidnappers to accept N7 million, but they refused. We are still looking for N8 million for it to be completed so that we can rescue these people.
” We want government to help us this difficult period. We want our children to be released on unhurt, ” a distraught parent said.
The police public relations officer, DSP Sunday Abutu said operatives of the command both from the state and force headquarters in Abuja are doing everything possible to secure the freedom of the victims.
The police spokesman said, ” The Nigeria Police Force Airwing and the Intelligence Response Team have arrived from Abuja to augment the force we have on ground and both overt and covert operations to rescue the kidnapped school children have been intensified.”
