The Governing Council of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), said it has set in motion process of selecting the Librarian and the Vice Chancellor whose tenure would lapse this year.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary of Council, Mufutau Ibrahim.
According to him, the Council decided to give itself an ample time to undergo every stage of the process of the appointment as provided by the extant laws and in order to avoid any stampeding.
He said that council has approved a calendar of events leading to the eventual selection of suitable candidates, adding that, a preliminary committee to draft the advertisement for the positions for the consideration of the Governing Council, was wet up.
The statement read:
“The Governing Council of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) at it’s 35th statutory meeting on Wednesday 19 February 2025, among other things noted that the offices of two principal officers nemely those of the University Librarian and the Vice Chancellor will become vacant within the next seven and 11 months respectively.
“The Council considered to give itself an ample time to undergo every stage of the process of the appointment as provided by the extant laws and in order to avoid any stampeding.
“In view of this, council has approved a calendar of events leading to the eventual selection of suitable candidates for the positions of the university librarian and the Vice Chancellor. It set up a preliminary committee to draft the advertisement for the positions for the consideration of the Governing Council at its next statutory meeting.”
