A ranking member of the House of Representatives from Ekiti State, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has hailed the youth and students of Ekiti extraction, for holding 10,000-man march to ramp up support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Biodun Oyebanji ahead of June 20 governorship poll.
Bamisile said mobilising such a quantum of productive population to buoy the governor’s support base, indicated that his policies have high reception among the youth and students.
Bamisile said these in a statement issued through his Media Office in Abuja, on Saturday.
The former speaker spoke in response to the unprecedented massive crowd of youth and students that attended the 10,000-man march organised by the youth for the governor in Ado Ekiti, on Friday.
Saluting the participants, Bamisile said the youth and students will have a lot to profit, if they recognized a government that primed their welfare and working hard to secure a good future for them.
Bamisile added that Oyebanji has distinguished himself, in terms of execution of youth centric policies, which he demonstrated through enhanced bursary and scholarship schemes, free education at the primary and secondary levels, digital trainings, appropriation of funds for law school students, youth in farming initiative, among others.
He said the agriculture revolution programme of the Oyebanji’s administration recently disbursed over a billion naira profit to over 4,000 participants in the state, signalling that farming had been redesigned to attract the youth population.
“In actual fact,Governor Oyebanji has executed so many programmes to benefit the youth and the most prominent and beneficial being the youth in commercial agriculture where about 4,500 are gainfully employed.
” This has reduced unemployment, poverty and crime in Ekiti, even insecurity.
“Currently, the governor is building a multi billion sport complex in Ado Ekiti to build the talents of our youth and nurture them to stardom when discovered.
“In terms of appointments, the present government has high number of youth in key positions like commissioner, special Adviser, Senior Special Assistant and Director General of government agencies.
“The governor deserves whatever the youth are giving for the realization of his second term, which will be beneficial to the state.
“But my commendation goes to the youth for mooting the idea of rallying support for the governor instead of exhibiting ingratitude by staying on social media platforms attacking the government that has done so well for them”.
