The All Progressives Congress (APC) Ekiti State Chapter has urged its members to suspend all untimely campaigning for the State and National Assembly seats and focus on the forthcoming gubernatorial election campaign.
In a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary, Segun Dipe, the Party emphasized the importance of prioritizing the upcoming governorship election, which is the next major election in the country as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
“The Ekiti State Governorship election is an off-season one, and it’s crucial that we get it right,” the statement read. “Our party is committed to winning the gubernatorial election without any division, so we must channel all our energy and resources towards achieving this goal.”
The Party cautioned that campaigning for other positions might divert attention and resources away from its primary objective of recording a landslide victory at the June 20 governorship election. “We have a winning candidate in the incumbent Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, considering his achievements and the support of Ekiti electorates. Any division among members as we go into that election will certainly affect our fortune.”
The statement further emphasized the need for unity among party members, saying, “It is in the light of this that we must suspend other ambitions for now and prioritize the gubernatorial election by working together to secure victory for our party.”
The APC Ekiti State Chapter is calling on all members to rally behind the party’s candidate and ensure a decisive win at the coming governorship polls.
