The State Commissioner for Works, Mr Sola Adebayo, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti.
Adebayo said the diversion became necessary to ensure adequate security, smooth movement of dignitaries and orderly conduct of activities during the commissioning ceremony.
He advised motorists coming from the Matthew area to pass through Irona, while those from Irona should proceed through Oke Bola and connect to the Access Bank axis.
The commissioner also urged motorists from Ajilosun to use the Agric Olope route, while road users travelling from Akure Road should pass through Agric Olope, Matthew and connect to the Federal Polytechnic Road.
According to him, motorists from Akure Road may alternatively divert through Mobil, Ekute, Oke-Isa and Fajuyi areas to reach their destinations.
Adebayo said traffic officers, security personnel and officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) would be deployed to strategic locations to direct motorists and ensure free flow of traffic throughout the event.
He appealed to residents and road users to cooperate with traffic management officials and make use of the designated alternative routes to avoid unnecessary delays.
The commissioner further announced that roads leading to and around the flyover axis would be closed to vehicular movement from midnight on Tuesday, June 9, until the completion of the commissioning ceremony.
He advised residents and motorists to plan their movements ahead and comply with all traffic directives issued during the event.
Adebayo expressed appreciation to residents for their understanding and cooperation, assuring them that the temporary inconvenience was necessary to ensure a successful commissioning of the landmark infrastructure project.
