Just In: Rivers Assembly commences impeachment proceeding against Fubara

The Rivers State House of Assembly has commenced impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara, escalating the political tension in the state.

The move was initiated during a plenary session of the Assembly, where lawmakers cited alleged constitutional and administrative issues as the basis for the action.

It was reported that The Rivers State House of Assembly plenary resumed today, bringing forward its earlier scheduled return date of January 26.

Tensions arising from the power struggle between Wike and Fubara have created uncertainties and anxieties in the oil rich Niger Delta State.
