A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has commended the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, for donating a multipurpose Hall to the First Baptist Church, Ikogosi Ekiti, to drive rural development.

Bamisile, who represents Ekiti South Federal Constituency II, stated that such generous donation, further accentuated the fact that Oyebanji’s model of rural development plan was unique and outstanding among his peers.

Governor Oyebanji, on Saturday commissioned a multipurpose Hall he donated to First Baptist Church in his Ikogosi country, built through a foundation endowed in his mother’s name, Abiyamo Esther Oyebanji Foundation, as part of contributions to community development and to immortalise his late mother.

Saluting such rural development spirit, Bamisile said this generosity will help in propelling other leaders to make spirited donations to their communities to ramp up development .

The former Ekiti Assembly Speaker, described the gesture as a strong testimonial to the fact that the public-private partnership initiative being canvassed by Oyebanji was gaining traction and acceptability among the populace.

Bamisile charged other leaders to imbibe the culture of giving back to the society to build a nation where equity and equal access to public facilities as well as trust in leadership are achieved for sustainable peace and unity.

He said: “Let me on behalf of my wife and constituents congratulate Governor Biodun Oyebanji for showing leadership by example and donated to his countryhome of Ikogosi Ekiti a modern multipurpose Hall in honour of his late mother.

“The best way to build a society where there will be trust between the leaders and the led, is for the real driver to perfectly hold the wheel and lead from the front and not the rare. This is what modern leadership teaches and enunciated.

“With this donation, many of us who are leaders in our rights and spaces will be more inspired to do more than we have been contributing to our communities and nation.

“I salute the Oyebanjis for demonstrating uncommon and unique communal spirit. They were abreast of the fact that East or West, home is the best. And it is how you lay your bed that you will lie on it.

“The governor has laid his bed nicely and Ekiti people are not ingrates, they will reciprocate this gesture by continually backing Mr Governor in future election and for the realisation of his vision for the good people of the state”.

Bamisile urged the community to make good use of the facility to achieve the purpose of extending enduring social and public utilities to the rural setting, no matter how remote in the state.
