OAU Ife congratulates new DSS DG

The newly appointed Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, has been described as a distinguished security officer whose extensive experience and expertise in security management would be an advantage to Nigeria and the continent of Africa.

The Pro – Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Professor Siyan Oyeweso, stated this in a congratulatory message sent to the new DG.

A release by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju, stated that while describing Mr Ajayi’s appointment as a testament of his exceptional performance within the security and intelligence circle, the Pro – Chancellor also applauded President Bola Tinubu for finding an Alumnus of OAU worthy of being appointed to lead the Nation’s Secret Police.

Professor Oyeweso also charged the new DG to use his position to further exhibit unparalleled excellence in the discharge of his official duties, reminding him of his heritage as a Great Ife.

According to the OAU Chairman of Council : “As a distinguished alumnus of Great Ife, not only are we proud of your reputation for hardworking and dedication but also for your strategic thinking and effective leadership since the beginning of your career in the DSS”.

“We are hopeful that under your leadership of one of Nigeria’s most critical security agencies, the DSS will demonstrate higher level of operational efficiency and address comtemporary challenges facing the country”.

While urging him to always be a good Ambassador of Great Ife that he is known for, Professor Oyeweso also prayed that God will endow him with the needed wisdom, knowledge and understanding to further take the Department of State Services to much greater heights.

He assured the new DG that the Governing Council, University Management, Senate, Staff, Students and the entire University Community are fully behind him, adding that he is a fantastic advertisement of his alma mater both in learning and character.
