Onijan to mark one year on throne in grand style … Laments kidnapping of monarchs, APC Chairman, others in Ekiti

The Onijan of Ijan-Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Aladesuyi, who is clocking a year on the throne of his forefathers this weekend, would mark the event with pomp and pageantry.

The monarch has also called on the Ekiti State Government as well as security agencies operating in the state to redouble their efforts and tackle the menace of incenssanct kidnapping in various parts of the state.

The revered traditional ruler also commends the government over its effort at restoring electricity back to some parts of the state including his community after ten years of total blackout in the area.

The monarch spoke in his palace in Ijan-Ekiti ,on Tuesday during a press conference organized to herald the commemoration and celebration of his one year coronation anniversary on the throne.

Oba Aladesuyi, who lamented over what he called repeated cases of kidnapping and other crime perpetrated by yet unidentified group of people especially at the popular Ijan/Ilumoba, Aisegba-Ekiti axis of the state, said the development has resulted into panic in the area and made some farmers to abandoned their farming activities and relocated to other parts of the state.

He reiterated the readiness of the people of his community to always maintain peace, harmony and cooperate with the government in tackling the menace of insecurity in the state, disclosed that youth’s of the community as well as other age groups would continue to render their supports to the present administration in the state in its drive at transforming the state.

As a way of overcoming the current hardship in the country, the monarch suggested the needs for government at all levels to focus more attention on the development of cottage Industries, saying its only through this the problem of unemployment that has become rampant among the youths of the country could be tackled.

The traditional ruler also admonished the youths of the country to engage more in agriculture as a special way of tackling the problem of hunger and unemployment that are ravaging the country.

Speaking on his coronation anniversary slated to hold on Saturday 7th of October 2023, the first class monarch said the event would be attended by eminent Nigerian as well as other traditional rulers within and outside the State.

He said the event would also featured giving of honourary and traditional chieftaincy titles to several individulas who have contributed to the development of the community, Ekiti State and the country at large.

Oba Aladesuyi, who also used the ocassion to shared more light on the various development that has taken place in the community since je ascended the throne in the last one year, the monarch mentioned peace, harmony and stability.

Other factors mentioned by the traditional ruler os security, establishment of Cargo Airport and Knowledge Zone by Ekiti State Government in the community among others.

He reiterated the readiness of the people of his community to continue the government in establishing more projects in the area, urged people of the country to continue to embrace peace and patient with the government.
