APC records over N20bn from sale of 2027 election forms

From Kayemo News
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised more than N20 billion from the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms to aspirants seeking tickets for the various elective offices in the 2027 general election.
The party sold presidential forms for N100 million, governorship forms for N50 million, Senate forms for N20 million, House of Representatives forms for N10 million, and State House of Assembly forms for N5 million. Female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities paid only for the expression of interest form and 50% of the nomination fee.
Sales ran from April 25 to May 6, 2026, after the party extended the deadline twice. The extension led to a surge in aspirants buying forms at both national and state levels.
By the close of sales, two presidential aspirants — President Bola Tinubu and Osifo Stanley — had purchased forms. About 90 people picked governorship forms across 28 states, while hundreds applied for the 469 National Assembly seats and 990 State House of Assembly positions.
After the May 7 deadline for submitting completed forms, the APC began screening aspirants on May 8. The exercise started with serving governors seeking re-election and those aiming for Senate seats.
