A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has described the late rx-Military Administrator of Bayelsa State and former Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Capt Caleb Olubolade as a refined soldier and well polished politician with class and finesse.
Bamisile, who is representing Gbonyin/Ekiti East/Emure Federal Constituency, said Olubolade, a top echelon of the People’s Democratic Party during his lifetime, served the masses with humility and immense generosity that werr acknowledged near and far.
Olubolade, who was the first military administrator of Bayelsa State and Minister of Police Affairs under Dr Goodluck Jonathan presidency, died in Lagos, on Sunday.
Commenting on the death via a statement released in Abuja, on Monday, Bamisile lamented that Ekiti has lost one of his finest politicians and elderstatesmen, who worked hard to make impact in the society as a soldier and politician.
Bamisile commiserated with Governor Biodun Oyebanji and Ipoti Ekiti indigenes, where the late Military officer hailed, on the painful demise of this priceless and illustrious son.
“The sudden passing of Navy Capt Olubolade was a rude shock to me. Our path crossed as politicians and I found him to be humane, generous, humble and someone with high regards for people despite his military background.
“Most interesting of his positive traits was his generosity that knew no bounds. In fact, he was generous to a fault and to the extent that some politicians dubbed him Mr ATM when he was serving as a Minister of Police Affairs.
“History will continue to remember him as one Nigerian, who fought gallantly in many battlefields to safeguard the territorial integrity of our dear country.
“His family members and admirers should take solace in the fact that he lived a life that was impactful and memorable. This I believe should be enough consolation for all of us.
“May his sould continue to rest in the bosom of God Almighty”, Bamisile stated.
