A member of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Bamisile, has commended the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji for exhibiting respect for party supremacy and returned the dissolved commissioners and Special Advisers back to their duty posts.
Bamisile, a former Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, urged the returned cabinet members to reciprocate the gesture, by revving the pedal of delivery for Ekiti to feel the impact of governance for the next one year.
The Federal lawmaker gave the eulogy, in a statement released through his Media Office in Abuja, on Thursday.
Bamisile said returning the former commissioners will help the All Progressives Congress focus on governance as well approach the June 20,2026 governorship election with a unifying front and strength to win the election.
The federal parliamentarian hailed the APC State Working Committee for wading into the matter and gave the most appropriate advice that could help Governor Oyebanji deliver the best for the electorate.
He urged the commissioners to bring their wealth of experience to bear and hit the ground running when apportioned the Ministry they will superintend over, having understood the dynamics of governance.
“Party produces a government and they deserve to be respected. I agree with the fact that bringing a new set of commissioners at this time when the first four years of the governor is coming to an end may impede the rate of delivery of the dividends of democracy. This is the more reason why the APC was voted for in the last governorship election.
“We should also bear in mind that the party is facing an election in six months time. While pursuing the second term of Governor Oyebanji, governance shouldn’t also suffer and that is where the experiences of the returned commissioners are required to make things happen in the best shape and form.
“I salute Governor Oyebanji for embracing this superior argument despite having the powers to hire and fire. This shows that he has respect for party supremacy and that he is a core party man”.
Bamisile appealed to the commissioners to maintain unyielding loyalty to the governor and campaign vigorously for him to win reelection across the 177 wards of the state.
“We knew what happened during the primary. There were a lot of suspicions about the activities of some cabinet members. This shouldn’t rear its ugly head again. We must all join hands together and deliver victory to Governor Oyebanji in the coming election.
“We are not returning Governor Oyebanji because he is a governor, but because he has delivered on his mandate in terms of infrastructure, youth empowerment, food security, and as well popularized our party, APC and makes it a darling party to all Ekiti residents”.
