Concern Parents of Liberty Academy Ibadan, Oyo State have sent a Save Our Soul (SOS) to the Governor of Oyo State seeking government assistance in fixing buildings damaged by rainstorm recently.
The rainstorms that happened on the 8th day of June 2025 removed the roof of many Classrooms and other buildings at the school and may affect the the students who are resuming for new academic term in September.
According to the concern Parents and the alumni of the school, “the incident has been reported to the Oyo State Government for urgent attention and action but as at today the State Ministries of Education and or of Works are yet to take any proactive step to remedy the deplorable situation .
“We don’t want to believe that the Government of Oyo State doesn’t attend to distress calls and emergencies unless it touches people they know directly? This School belongs to the Government of Oyo State !!!
“Information has it that the Students in Oyo State shall resume by mid September 2025 while the damaged buildings remain without renovation.”
Meanwhile, one of the Old Students of the School , Barr Wale Aribatise, urges the Governor of Oyo State , His Excellency Seyi Makinde to speedily attend to the state of emergency through renovation of the damaged buildings in the School before the fast approaching resumption date to save the Students from the seasonal inclement weather as they deserve to study in a conducive environment.
