At least three people, including two students of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) and a staff member of a Popular Hotel in Ikere Ekiti were reportedly confirmed dead following a stampede incident at a convocation after-party held at the hotel yesterday .
The incident was reported this morning, with eyewitnesses saying it occurred late last night during the event.
According to preliminary accounts from eyewitnesses, the situation began when a large crowd struggled to move from one section of the venue to another, leading to a stampede.
However, the identities of the deceased have not been officially confirmed as of press time.
Authorities are expected to release an official update once the victims are identified and their families get notified.
