The Ekiti Chief Magistrate Court trying the criminal defamation case against human rights lawyer and activist, Dele Farotimi has granted him bail.
He was granted bail with N30 million bond with two sureties in the like sum with one of the sureties have a landed property in Ado Ekiti.
Farotimi is facing charges before the court for alleged defamation of a legal icon, Aare Afe Babalola in his book, titled, ‘ Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System.
He was to submit his international passport to the court. He was also barred from talking to the media.
He is to remain in prison custody until when he perfected his bail condition.
