The police in Ekiti State have charged one Bamidele Ayobami (37) at the Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti for the alleged theft of goats in the state capital.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that on August 8, at about 6am in Ado-Ekiti, the defendant and others still at large conspired to steal goats.
Inspector Oriyomi stated that the offence is punishable under Section 421 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
The defendant’s counsel, Barrister Oluwafemi Alabi, urged the court to grant his client bail on liberal terms, assuring the court that he would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendant bail of N50,000 with one surety and adjourned the case until October 7, for hearing. {Daily Trust}
