Ekiti Police commences enforcement of tinted permit regulations

The Ekiti State Police Command has said it has commenced the full enforcement of Vehicle Tinted Glass Permit in line with the relevant existing laws and the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP KAYODE ADEOLU EGBETOKUN, from 2nd October, 2025.

A statement by the Police spokesman, SP Abutu Sunday, this exercise is strategically aimed at ensuring detection and prevention of crime, adequate security for lives and property and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere across the State.

While the ban on unauthorized use of sirens, revolving/strobe lights, covering and defacing of number plates remains active, citizens are advised to remain law abiding and go about their lawful businesses.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP JOSEPH ERIBO, has cautioned personnel on the enforcement duty to remain professional, human rights compliance, firm and avoid all forms of corrupt practices.

Meanwhile, Motorists who are yet to get their Vehicle Tinted Glass Permit are kindly advised to visit: www.possap.gov.ng for the registration, after which they will be invited to the Command State Intelligence Department (SID) at the State Command Headquarters, Old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti, for the physical verification and issuance.
