The Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Professor Joseph Babatola Ayodele, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, staff, students and the entire University community, heartily congratulates the Leader of the Senate, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, CON, on the occasion of his 63rd birthday.
Professor Ayodele described Senator Bamidele as an exceptional statesman, visionary leader and distinguished son of Ekiti State, whose unwavering commitment to the development of education, human capital and national service has continued to inspire many across the country.
The Vice-Chancellor particularly lauded the Senate Leader for his invaluable support and enduring contributions to the infrastructural growth aswell as the academic advancement of Ekiti State University.
Professor Ayodele noted that Senator Bamidele’s interventions have further strengthened the University’s drive towards excellence through the execution of several completed and ongoing legacy projects, on the campus.
These include *the Construction of ICT Center and donation of borehole for the Directorate of General Studies (GST), the construction of a modern FM Radio Station to enhance practical media training and research, construction and furnishing of both Phases 1 & II of the Medical Students’ Hostel for the College of Medicine, Construction of a Modern Mini stadium, Construction and Rehabilitation of 2km Campus linkage road, with Solar powered street light, and the facilitation of the completed Senator Akpabio Faculty of Law 300 capacity Lecture Theatre.*
The Vice-Chancellor stated that these landmark interventions have demonstrated Senator Bamidele’s firm belief in education as a catalyst for national development and his enduring passion for improving teaching, learning, research and students’ welfare at Ekiti State University.
He further commended the Senate Leader’s outstanding service to Nigeria, particularly his legislative leadership, advocacy for democratic governance, constitutional reforms, youth empowerment, educational development and constituency-focused projects that have positively impacted countless lives within and beyond Ekiti State.
