The management of Federal University Oye Ekiti has again tackled Sahara Reporters over misinformation about the university, describing its inceasant blackmail of the university as an innate culture.

However, Sahara Reporters again at its usual element, published on its website that FUOYE gave heroic welcome to its ‘suspended Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina.”

This is another falacy of hasty misinformation as the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina resumed office after his six-month research leave and not from any suspension.

Prof. Fasina came back from his accumulated leave and was indeed given a heroic welcome party worthy of a rare leader, who was ready to put more effort with a view to making FUOYE greater than he met it.

It was a celebration galore as the university rolled out the drums to welcome back the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina from his six-month research leave.

Rather than sparking outrage, according to Sahara Reporters, the return of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina was like a triumphant return as the entire university community glowed amidst pomp and pageantry.

His return, was, however, greeted by celebrations.

Also, the alleged member of staff, Saka Kamal Odunjo, being quoted copiously by Sahara Reporters was no longer a staff of FUOYE having been dismissed by the university on the grounds of serious misconduct.

Particularly, there was no controversy anywhere as being touted by Sahara Reporters as there was no case of students attacking members of staff.

In fact, the atmosphere was peaceful as members of stag were celebrating the return of their Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina.

But like a chameleon, who would not change it’s stock in trade, Sahara Reporters had again engaged in its usual times of closing its eyes to beautiful things in FUOYE.

And in order to set the record straight, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina applied for his accumulated research leave and was graciously granted by the university’s highest organ of authority, the Governing Council.

The Governing Council, led by Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, graciously approved Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina’s leave which terminated on October 14 and not a suspension.

Sahara Reporters also said an alliance between the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina was aimed at looting the university.

Instead, the alliance had paid off, fostering unity of purpose especially the welfare of members of staff as the university had begun payment of relocation allowance on a first working day of the Vice-Chancellor.

In a statement by the university management, no where were students sponsored to attack members of staff as the event was without rancour.
Nobody was shocked to see the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Abayomi Sunday Fasina as members of staff were already expecting his return, hence the tumultuous anticipated crowd, the statement said.

This, again was from the widest imagination of Sahara Reporters

Meanwhile the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina has canvassed for peace, saying only peace would guarantee progress of the university.

Prof. Fasina in a speech entitled “Peace–sine quanon for university development,” said It gives me great joy to stand before you today as I resume duty after my six-month research and accumulated leave.
