The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has approved the Omuo Polytechnic Omuo Ekiti, as a Skill Training Center (STC), by approving ten skill programmes for the institution.
This was contained in a letter dated June 13, 2025 and signed on behalf of the Executive Secretary of NBTE by the Director, Vocational, Technical and Skills Development, Engr. S. M. Yusuf,
The letter which was addressed to the Chief Executive of the Polytechnic Omuo Ekiti, read: “I refer to the application and subsequent verification visit by the Board to your Skill Training Center (STC). I am directed to inform you that the Executive Secretary has approved the Centre to operate as a Skill Training Center(STC) for the following trades:
1. Painting, Decoration & Finishes (Interior Design)
2. Computer Hardware Repair & Maintenance
3. Fashion Design & Garment making
4. Bricklaying, Block laying & Concreting and Interlocking
5. Networking and System Security Installation
6. Electrical Installations
7. Social Media Communications
8. Creative Media (Digital Media Production)
9. Furniture Making & Upholstery
10. Welding & Fabrication
“Based on the new arrangement, the Sectoral Awarding Body will be responsible for the assessment of the trainees, while the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) will issue certificates based on the
recommendation of the Sectoral Awarding Body.
“Both the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) and Sectoral Awarding Body will be communicated accordingly.
“Please accept my congratulations.”
