There was palpable tension in Ibadan following an explosion that occurred in city Tuesday evening.
The explosion caused tension in some parts of the city causing residents to scamper for safety of their lives and properties.
While the cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertain as at the time of filing this report, reports however indicates that the explosion happened around 7.30pm and the bang was heard across multiple locations in the city.
The explosion has also resorted into immediate blackout in some areas of Ibadan including Oremeji street in Mokola.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State government has urged the public to remain calm in the wake of an explosion that occurred in parts of the state capital, Ibadan, on Tuesday evening.
Residents are advised to stay calm while security agencies investigate to ascertain the origin and reason behind the incident.
”The Oyo State Government is aware of reports of an explosion in Ibadan. Residents are urged to remain calm as security agencies are investigating this to determine the source and cause of the incident,” Oyo Government stated.
However, there are viral videos online, showing dusty clouds, burning houses, and cars.
