A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Bamisile, has urged Ekiti citizens, to as a matter of expediency pray for the success of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s first tenure as well as the conduct of a peaceful governorship poll on June 20, 2026.
Bamisile, who is representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency II, described the 2026 as a decisive year for the people of the state, saying the success of Governor Oyebanji’s first tenure and the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming governorship election, are pivotal to the overall development of Ekiti.
The former speaker said these in his congratulatory message to Ekiti people on the occasion of the New Year festivity and released in Kota Ekiti, Ekiti East Local Government Area, on Thursday.
Bamisile congratulated Ekiti citizens, most especially his constituents in Ekiti East/Gbonyin/Emure Federal Constituency for witnessing another year and for keeping faith with Governor Oyebanji’s government.
The Federal lawmaker saluted the citizens for solidly backing the governor in his resolve to change the faces of governance and politics in the state, assuring that their support, commitment and sacrifices won’t result to nought.
The Chairman, House Committee on Delegated Legislation, averred that the governor, had succeeded in ramping up delivery of good governance in 2025, saying prayers of the citizens are required to inspire him to end his first term tenure in 2026 better and stronger.
Bamisile promised that members of the National Assembly will continue to synergise with the state Governor to expand economic and political prosperity being steadily provided for the citizens, warning that nothing can be achieved through divisions and chaos.
“I congratulate Ekiti citizens, particularly my constituents for witnessing another new year in their lives. This worths celebrating.
“As we begin, we have a collective responsibility to support the governor and pray for the success of his administration. This is how best we can all benefit as citizens.
“The 2026 governorship election is very crucial to our lives as a people. It will mark the beginning of real consolidation of governance and stability that we require for us to grow and develop.
“We need a governance that is stable and unbroken. Let us pray fervently to actualise this under the atmosphere of peace.
“Let us endeavour to undertake what are expected of us to achieve better dividends in terms of politics and governance in 2026. It is a year we have to get it right as a people for us to accomplish our collective destiny in this country.
“I felicitate my esteemed constituents and Ekiti people on this occasion and pray for God’s mercy, grace and blessing in the new year”.
