The Ekiti State Government has approved N198,369,532.50 (one hundred and ninety eight million, three hundred and sixty nine thousand, five hundred and thirty two naira, and fifty kobo only) for the restoration of the damaged transformers in Omuo Ekiti.
A statement from the Commissioner for Information and Value Orientation, Mr Taiwo Olatunbosun said that the repairs became due to prolong outages caused by the damaged transformers.
“Following the rehabilitation of the 33kV network that serves Gbonyin, Aiyekire and Ekiti-East LGAs and LCDAs of the Ekiti State Government, it became imperative to repair the damaged transformers in the area resulting from the prolonged power outage.
“The move is aimed at enabling the communities enjoy the transformative benefits of consistent power supply.
“The job was approved to be executed through direct labour by the Ekiti State Electricity Board and completed within three months.”
