A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has described the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji as the architect of modern and unifying politics in the state, which he proclaimed, has helped in uniting all tendencies and stabilising the polity .
Bamisile, a former speaker, gave the commendation, in his congratulatory message to Governor Oyebanji on Sunday, on the memorable occasion of the governor’s 50th birthday anniversary.
The representative of the Ekiti South Federal Constituency II, said Oyebanji is an uncommon leader, who has earned the respect of every Ekiti man across political and religious divides.
Bamisile, the Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Delegated Legislation, added that the best respect Ekiti people can deploy to reciprocate Oyebanji’s excellent performance and virtues of humility, is to reelect him in 2026 to further consolidate the dividends of democracy for them.
Besides his stunning performance and delivery across the economic pillars of his administration, Bamisile said bringing all the feuding political gladiators under one umbrella to promote the spirit of homogeneity ,was another aspect where the governor has earned himself local and national honours.
“Constitutional democracy requires that peace, justice and unity must take the centre stage. Our governor is not just a constitutional democrat, but he has exhibited capacity for humility and excellence in service to the extent that people now regard him as the architect of modern politics in Ekiti and an uncommon unifier.
“When he came into office in 2022, he promised to return power to the people and allowed Ekiti citizens to take ownership of government. He has fulfilled the pledges and blocked the existing gulf between the government and the people.
“Under his leadership, merit has become the standard practice in appointments and for elective positions. No more armtwisting and imposition that often breed incompetence in governance and leadership with this new sheriff in town.
“Virtually all the sectors are witnessing flagship projects ranging from roads, airport, flyover, schools, youth empowerment, implementation of new salary for workers and pensioners, among others.
” Through the enigmatic and out of the box thinking of governor Oyebanji, the youth, particularly graduates, who perceived and had a warped impression that farming belonged to poor people, are now fully back to land. Recently, 4,000 youth farmers shared One Billion Naira profits after the 2025 farming season.
“At the local level, all our kingmakers are now functional and electing their kings without harassment and interference. Little wonder, we are witnessing relative peace across all the towns I our dear state.
” It is evident that Ekiti people have got real deal, rather than raw deal under the distinguished leadership of Governor Oyebanji. Our state is now being known for peace , unity and progress. We are no longer in the news for wrong reasons.
