A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Bamisile, has advised the returned commissioners and Special Advisers in the state to focus majorly on delivery of more dividends of democracy to the people in the remaining one year of the first term administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji
As part of his agenda setting initiative, the member representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency 2, urged them to form a synergy with Governor Oyebanji and the All Progressives Congress to approach the June 20, 2026 governorship election as a united body.
The former speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, said these through a statement issued by his Media Office n Abuja, on Tuesday.
Bamisile warned the cabinet members against working at cross purposes with the governor, by displaying characters that could divide the nucleus of government as the governor intensifies efforts to deliver more goodies before the expiration of his first term tenure next year October.
He urged the cabinet members to display loyalty to Governor Oyebanji, who appointed them, the people of the state and the APC political family, by glowingly and wholeheartedly committed to efforts being devised to win the next year’s governorship poll.
“What is most important to Governor Oyebanji and the APC as a welfarist party, is delivery of democracy dividends to our people and it was on this premise that these commissioners and Special Advisers were appointed. They shouldn’t betray the trust and confidence reposed in their abilities to make a difference in the lives of our people.
“The first term of Governor Biodun Oyebanji runs out next year and a lot of grounds needed to be covered. With this, they should be more focused, more diligent and more decisive in taking critical decisions and in execution of projects that fall within their purview.
“They shouldn’t take any action that will make the people suspect that they are there to feather their own nests. They must work for the people and make sacrifices for the welfare and wellbeing of our people to be enhanced”.
Bamisile urged them to be more accessible to the people and connect solidly to the grassroots for the APC to maintain an edge in popularity and network ahead of the 2026 election.
“Make yourselves available for the people to access. Don’t create a gap or wedge, because this could have a serious effect on the popularity of our party and our government.
“The people are the most strategic focus in democracy. Any party that loses the trust and support of the people will collapse. Let the cabinet members bear this in mind and treat our people with respect.
“They should try hard to be accommodating, even if it requires them making sacrifices. This is the beauty of democracy that we practice”, Bamisile stated.
