The Ekiti State Police Command Rapid Response Squad(RRS) in collaboration with the Non-State Actors have launched a serious manhunt on the perpetrators with the view to arrest, prosecute and cripple their criminal activities in the State.
The command said the arrest followed some reported cases of vandalization of electric cables and transformers in the State,

the police effort yielded positive result as the Operatives, on 21/02/2025 swooped on their various criminal hideouts within and outside Ado-Ekiti and arrested one Kabiru Abubakar ’20yrs’, Kamarudeen Adekunle ’38yrs’, Sukurana Amodu ’26yrs’, Atiku Abubakar ’24yrs’, Ibrahim Milasi ’26yrs’, Jafaru Iliasu ’24yrs’, Nasiru yahuza ’25yrs’, Muhammadu Aminu ’25yrs’, ISah Zaiyanu ’32yrs’, Abubakar Rabiu ’21yrs, Ibrahim Rasaq ’27yrs’ and Yusuf Usman ’25yrs’.
“During investigation, the suspects all confessed to the commission of the crime of vandalization and stealing and the following items were recovered from them: Rolls of Armor Cables, Rolls of Recline Cables, Rolls of Aluminium Conductors, one Transformer Feeder Pillar, Rolls of Binding Wire, Electrical Cables and Generator Parts. The arrested suspects shall be arraigned accordingly.
“The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP JOSEPH ERIBO, hereby warns all criminally minded individuals within the State to repent and turn a new leaf as it will no longer be business as usual.”
