A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has bagged Doctor of Philosophy academic Degree in Public Sector Governance and Administration, at the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti.
The former speaker actualised the outstanding academic feat in the research degree, after successfully defending his Thesis before the Academic Board of the Department, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
The ecstatic Dr Bamisile revealed that he will be fully garlanded with the academic laurel at the university’s next convocation ceremonies that will be staged before the end of the year.
The Chairman, House Committee on Delegated legislation, had earlier bagged Master and Bachelor Degrees from the same citadel of learning before the new feat.
He described the journey culminating in the new accomplishment as replete with different experiences, saying nothing profits a nation like having its citizens mentally equipped through the right academic system.
Dr Bachelor appreciated his late parents and wife, Mrs Jaiyeola Bamisile, who inspired him to attain the academic ladder that looked impossible and unattainable at inception.
“I am indeed happy that I could ascend the zenith of my academic career, despite the initial hitches and my highly engaging exploits in politics and business.
“This was inspiration and exemplary motivation that I have demonstrated to the younger generations that nothing is impossible and that we shouldn’t be weary of knowledge seeking. Only a dead man is tired of learning.
“I appreciate the academic Board and management of the institution for inspiring some of us who are not working within the academic system to ascend this ladder.
“Though the journey was tortuous and bumpy, but it is an eye opener to our youth to always strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.
“To me, I consider this a long walk to academic accomplishment and fulfilment”, Dr Bamisile stated.
